Butterflies, Lions, and Dinosaurs OH MY!!!

So, I had some extra fabric laying around and I decided to whip up a skirt for the Mei. It turned out beautifully and the best part about it is it is reversible! Complete with belt loops, ribbon sash, and matching hair accessories! Yeah I know, overboard, but I don't care...I like it haha. You will see it is in many photos :)
One morning while we were not as alert as we should have been, Mei decided to do her makeup. As if she doesn't have a moneymaker already haha. She chose blue and charcoal, at least she knew the general area to put it :) She was very proud of herself...
We had a fun busy week this week including, but not limited to... mini golf, walking with dinosaurs exhibit, a trip to the museum, a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Holt, and even bowling! Mini golf with Nate and Sarah was a blast and sadly I forgot my camera, lame I know. Meili even walked around holding a ball and her putter. It was all glow in the dark and Kai was so excited about it! Although, the dark is not his favorite thing and he asked for the lights a couple of times. The dinosaur exhibit was totally awesome. It was really very cool Kai had a countdown and when it was over couldn't stop talking about it. Mei even screamed "dy door" and ROOOAAARR! She was giggling the whole time. Kai was glued to the action and soaked in every minute of it. The museum is always great fun for the kids, they absolutely love it. Here's a few pics...
CAUTION: MEILI AHEADThere is a dress up section and Mei was a princess and an butterfly :)
Kai chose the 2 things that he could turn into something scarry!!! A lion and a dinosaur, most specifically TREX!!! As you can see he gets very into it...With Grandma and Grandpa Holt here we did some shopping, eating, and bowling! The kids had a great time with them and we can't wait to see them again in May.

Easter Happenings

Ok, so I know it's only been a week since I posted, but so much has happened it feels like it's been a month! This week we went to see the easter bunny, I kid you not, 3 times at the mall and so kai has been pretending, of course, to be the easter bunny and pose for pictures with everyone in the family and then give them a candy to take home and a coloring book, haha. So here's a few pics of him doing that! (they make me laugh) Let me introduce a new member of the family, possibly larger than the man himself. This is Fryler. Yes, similar to Kailer, but slightly different, a name chosen by none other than the man himself. He is in love with dragons right now and anything else manly, dangerous, or naughty :) We saw this at wal-mart in accordance with a new movie out right now and there was only one blue one, he carried it around the store knowing that we would need to put it back later. When it came time the waterworks started and seriously I have never really seen him cry (other than the fish incident, yikes) like this before. He cried the whole way home even after stopping to talk about other things for a bit, he would start right up again. It was heartbreaking, "I love the blue dragon with the purple tounge and blue wings!" "He misses me!" We talked about how the easter bunny might be able to bring it to him and it just so happens that the easter bunny hopped by daddy's car on his way home for an early easter gift :) Needless to say, they're in love. I'm not much for stuffed animals, but this thing gets dragged everywhere, even to a friends house this afternoon! Hope Fryler can handle this boy, he's a wild one...
Over the weekend we colored eggs twice and they could not get enough of it. We had Nate and Sarah over one night and the kids loved seeing them. Meili even roughed it up with Nate :)We made another switch off happen at the temple this weekend and the weather was so great the kids loved playing outside it. Here's a few pics of that, Kai even took one of us!
This is after seeing the easter bunny the first time, poor boy couldn't handle anymore excitement and crashed on the way home. I feel so accomplished when this happens :)
Oh and BRE!!! We have BIRDS...FINALLY!!!
And I know you have seen him be "An Army" but here it is in true form, take note of the army hat, shoes, and shirt:) He is "An Army" from head to toe, literally.Lastly, on one quick side note, after swearing I would never step foot in Nursery again, as I was in there with a still teary daughter for 2 hours last week, I had a revelation. She started singing this week, over and over again... "A Shun Beap!" "A Shun Beap!" A Shun Beap!" If you can't decode, it's, A sun beam. She started singing the sunbeam song and I couldn't believe my ears. How dare I say, I won't sit in sunbeams with my little emotional sack of hormones. Nursery I'll be back next week...

St. Patty's Day Parade :)

So this is pretty much the best parade I have ever went to... We did it the first year we were here, but missed it the second and were soooo bummed. So needless to say we (well myself and Kailer) were so excited we could hardly contain ourselves. Kai and Meili ended up with so many green necklaces and a whole bag full of candy and now I don't know what to do with all of it. Kailer loved it, there were so many "motorcycle cops", fireengines and even complete with his favorite...Darth Vader, storm troopers, and Jedis! It rocked and was nearly 2 hours long! We went with some friends and had an awesome time. We took the kids to the park afterward for a bit, but the nice weather didn't last long enough, so we came home for naptime. It was an awesome day! Here's some pics...
On the way to the parade...So excited!

Darth Vader and the storm troopers!!!!!

The face of excitement...seeing Darth Vader!!!

Oh, and it case your wondering, she can fit an entire handful of crackers in her mouth at one time...geeze Meili.

This is the latest dress up for him..."An Army" And that is the face that goes with the outfit...

18 months

Well folks she's 18 mo going on 13. She is seriously hormonal, sweet, and naughty all wrapped up in one little beautiful package. She has learned a new word today, which is "NNNNNOOOOO!!!!!" (insert a scowing pucker face here). She definitely is spunky and full of life, which hopefully will take her very far. Her first day in nursery was sunday and she absolutely hated it, she was fine if I was right there, but screamed immediately when I left. Needless to say, we both ended up in relief society in the end. She just couldn't handle it. We love her so much and are so grateful for the spunk she brings to our family. Here's a few pics...
She dearly loves her baby :)

Daddy's little, deer hunter pro :)

I had to post this picture because sometimes your just so tired you fall asleep mid eye rubbing...

Randomness

We didn't do anything super thrilling this weekend except finishing our 72 hr kits. We're feeling a bit unprepared with all the natural disasters going on so we've been working on those for the last couple of weeks. We wrapped that all up tonight. We had a relaxing weekend together and Kai got a new bike, which he is so excited about and I can't believe I didn't get a picture of that yet, but that will be coming soon. Here's a few random quotes from the man himself that I just have to share. Poop talk is still happening on a regular basis and tonight he said his belly hurt.
Me: "Looks like you have some diarrhea happening since you some candy today."
K: "No mom, when you have diarrhea you go 'uuuuuggghhhhhhh' and I'm not doing that"
Me: "Oh, I see, your right :)" (If you can, imagine him grunting and pushing while making that noise)
Also, I know everyone has probably heard this already, but we were watching the Michael Jackson movie and he said, "Mom? Is Michael Jackson a boy or a girl?" He makes a point there...
At the beginning of that movie he sees the Columbia Pictures logo, which in case you didn't know is this...
Now, we have had numerous talks about the Holy Ghost since he's been talking about that in Sunbeams and he says "Mom? Is that the Holy Ghost?" Me: "No honey remember the Holy Ghost doesn't have a body" K:"Oh, right."
Meili on the other hand only has one question... "Where is my binki?" No, actually she really hasn't even noticed the difference. We lost the binki on Saturday somewhere around here and we've never really been the family that has 20 of them just lying around. There was only one, so we couldn't find it when it came bed time and so we decided that was probably going to be the end of the binki era. We weren't ready, but kind of felt like it was plopped in our laps. It has gone so surprisingly well that 2 days later she is putting herself to sleep by herself even for naps. Occasionally I will go in and pat her back or rock her, but tonight she talked for about 45 min then fell asleep all on her own. Surprisingly she hasn't even asked for it, which has been a total shocker. She is still cutting molars and being her moody little self, but she is working it out. Here's a few pics...

PS: NEW SLIDE SHOW!!!

Poop Talk :)

As of late "poop talk" has become a common occurrence at our house. Kai has become bored with sitting alone in the bathroom while he poops so he hollers from his porcelain throne, "MOM! DAD! Come have some poop talk with me!" So today's Poop talk consisted of sharks, alligators, and dragons. There was also discussion of 'some day when he has a blue motorcycle and a truck that he will drive us to work and then he will live in the basement.' Happy to hear that he will be taking up permanent residence in our basement :) Oh how I love this boy and his antics...
This weekend we went to the temple and traded off with the kids, It is always a lot of work, but so worth it. Then we took the kids bowling and it was so fun, they both love it. Meili just dances to the music and does her happy feet dance because she's so excited about all the balls and lights and Kailer really loves to bowl. He so enjoys challenging things. It was a wonderful weekend together :) Here's a few pics of Mei accessorizing...

Valentine's Day

My parents came to visit this weekend and we got a nice break. It has been hard with the kids being sick on and off again the past couple weeks. We got to go out both Friday and Saturday night to dinner and a movie. It was great to spend some time together. We took my parents and brother-in-law to the freemont district again, which was a really fun atmosphere on Valentine's weekend. Meili is cutting her bottom molars now and they are both battling illnesses again, so our house is very whiny :) We are trying to keep it together. Thanks for the well needed break this weekend Mom and Dad. Here's a pic of the sickies...
