Aunt Deanna

We had a great visit packed full of fun with Aunt Deanna and Uncle Weston! My sister decided to use us as an excuse for a vacation and we had so much fun with them. We spent our time bowling, taking Kai to see How to Train your Dragon, seeing the volcano and the water show at the Bellagio, doing some shopping while the guys went golfing, watching Kai's baseball game, going to the buffet, and even swimming in our pool for the first time this year! We had so much fun with them and can't wait to spend this upcoming weekend with them and more family in St. George to watch my other sister do the Iron Man! Here's a few pics of our fun :)
Kai's t-ball uniform complete with his name on the back is blue this time and he is soooo thrilled, it is his favorite color! Heaven help us if we ever end up with purple...
Volcano... Meili wasn't so sure about it...
Ipoding with Uncle Weston :)
First swim of the season, doesn't Mei look so girly in her little swimming getup??!!

Yes, Another Parade...

Henderson seems to be making up excuses to have parades, which as far as we are concerned is not a problem. The parade this weekend was for, and I quote, "Heritage Days". It wasn't the greatest parade I've seen, but still plenty of candy and excitement for the kiddos. You can't go wrong with that really. I asked Kai what his favorite part of the parade was and he said, "well mom, all the candy..." Here's a few pics from the event
Kai thought this guy was pretty cool, he pulled over and let him hop on and pose for a picture and then gave him a pin! He was pretty excited!
We also had our first free friday fun night, which didn't end up being completely free, as we spent 5 bucks on a pizza, but it was really fun for the kids. We parked our car with our trunk popped and we had blankets and pillows in the back and ate pizza while we watched airplanes land every 30 seconds. There is a pull off where you can park your car and watch them come and go. The kids were so excited! Meili would scream with glee everytime one would come and Kai was taking pics of them with our camera. It was so much fun for them and relaxing for us! After an hour we left, with Kailer in tears, sad huh! He seriously didn't want to leave.

baseball :)

Kai just started baseball again with the same team that he was previously with. He loves it so much he can't get enough. Half of it is probably that the coach is awesome and loves teaching the kids. He plays and jokes with them and they just love it. Kai is actually starting to become quite a hitter and although his little legs don't carry him very quickly hopefully he could make it to base with a good hit. The point is he loves it and practices are almost more fun than the games themselves because it's like he is playing outside with daddy! Not his daddy of course, but a daddy, it will have to suffice for now. Rich's schedule is kind of crazy right now with ortho trauma at UMC, he's pretty much living "trauma life in the ER" if you've watched that show on discovery health, then you know what I'm talking about, needless to say he is seriously loving it. He worked all weekend for the most part and we hope to see him a bit more during the week. Here's a couple pics...
There have been some really hillarious conversations with Kai lately about what makes boys and girls different from eachother. It's not necissarily appropriate for the blog, but absolutely hillarious so you'll have to call me if you want the info. Luckily Rich was here with me and a part of the whole convo, we couldn't keep a straight face with eachother while he was inquiring!!!

Aunt Brenda & the Easter Bunny

My sister from Minnesota spent a week with us and we had sooo much fun! We spent our time enjoying relaxing afternoons together and even mini golfing, bowling, site seeing, and eating at awesome restaurants. My niece and I stayed up late and made interchangeable flip flops and watched movies, it was some serious fun!! We also have a new found love for Thai food thanks to Tim (aka fun bringer)! They were so generous, we appreciate them so much. We had such a great time with them and can't wait to see them again soon.
Here's Kai at story time with the Easter bunny and some Easter morning pics :) Meili was actually skipping around the living room, she couldn't figure out why she got to wake up to loads of candy, but was certainly happy about it.
My parents even came for a visit after my sister left and my mom totally helped me reorganize my house. It really needed it. We got to go on a date Saturday night, which, if you know us, is a rare occurrence without kids. So, that was definitely nice. Now our nearly 2 week company filled house is empty, but it's nice to get back into our routine. The party has to end sometime I guess... it was certainly fun while it lasted! Here's Kai and Grandpa with his new rollerskates for filling up his "good choice rock" jar. Oh and there are new slide show pics! Check 'em out!

Butterflies, Lions, and Dinosaurs OH MY!!!

So, I had some extra fabric laying around and I decided to whip up a skirt for the Mei. It turned out beautifully and the best part about it is it is reversible! Complete with belt loops, ribbon sash, and matching hair accessories! Yeah I know, overboard, but I don't care...I like it haha. You will see it is in many photos :)
One morning while we were not as alert as we should have been, Mei decided to do her makeup. As if she doesn't have a moneymaker already haha. She chose blue and charcoal, at least she knew the general area to put it :) She was very proud of herself...
We had a fun busy week this week including, but not limited to... mini golf, walking with dinosaurs exhibit, a trip to the museum, a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Holt, and even bowling! Mini golf with Nate and Sarah was a blast and sadly I forgot my camera, lame I know. Meili even walked around holding a ball and her putter. It was all glow in the dark and Kai was so excited about it! Although, the dark is not his favorite thing and he asked for the lights a couple of times. The dinosaur exhibit was totally awesome. It was really very cool Kai had a countdown and when it was over couldn't stop talking about it. Mei even screamed "dy door" and ROOOAAARR! She was giggling the whole time. Kai was glued to the action and soaked in every minute of it. The museum is always great fun for the kids, they absolutely love it. Here's a few pics...
CAUTION: MEILI AHEADThere is a dress up section and Mei was a princess and an butterfly :)
Kai chose the 2 things that he could turn into something scarry!!! A lion and a dinosaur, most specifically TREX!!! As you can see he gets very into it...With Grandma and Grandpa Holt here we did some shopping, eating, and bowling! The kids had a great time with them and we can't wait to see them again in May.

Easter Happenings

Ok, so I know it's only been a week since I posted, but so much has happened it feels like it's been a month! This week we went to see the easter bunny, I kid you not, 3 times at the mall and so kai has been pretending, of course, to be the easter bunny and pose for pictures with everyone in the family and then give them a candy to take home and a coloring book, haha. So here's a few pics of him doing that! (they make me laugh) Let me introduce a new member of the family, possibly larger than the man himself. This is Fryler. Yes, similar to Kailer, but slightly different, a name chosen by none other than the man himself. He is in love with dragons right now and anything else manly, dangerous, or naughty :) We saw this at wal-mart in accordance with a new movie out right now and there was only one blue one, he carried it around the store knowing that we would need to put it back later. When it came time the waterworks started and seriously I have never really seen him cry (other than the fish incident, yikes) like this before. He cried the whole way home even after stopping to talk about other things for a bit, he would start right up again. It was heartbreaking, "I love the blue dragon with the purple tounge and blue wings!" "He misses me!" We talked about how the easter bunny might be able to bring it to him and it just so happens that the easter bunny hopped by daddy's car on his way home for an early easter gift :) Needless to say, they're in love. I'm not much for stuffed animals, but this thing gets dragged everywhere, even to a friends house this afternoon! Hope Fryler can handle this boy, he's a wild one...
Over the weekend we colored eggs twice and they could not get enough of it. We had Nate and Sarah over one night and the kids loved seeing them. Meili even roughed it up with Nate :)We made another switch off happen at the temple this weekend and the weather was so great the kids loved playing outside it. Here's a few pics of that, Kai even took one of us!
This is after seeing the easter bunny the first time, poor boy couldn't handle anymore excitement and crashed on the way home. I feel so accomplished when this happens :)
Oh and BRE!!! We have BIRDS...FINALLY!!!
And I know you have seen him be "An Army" but here it is in true form, take note of the army hat, shoes, and shirt:) He is "An Army" from head to toe, literally.Lastly, on one quick side note, after swearing I would never step foot in Nursery again, as I was in there with a still teary daughter for 2 hours last week, I had a revelation. She started singing this week, over and over again... "A Shun Beap!" "A Shun Beap!" A Shun Beap!" If you can't decode, it's, A sun beam. She started singing the sunbeam song and I couldn't believe my ears. How dare I say, I won't sit in sunbeams with my little emotional sack of hormones. Nursery I'll be back next week...
