Thanksgiving in Utah

We made the journey to Utah for Thanksgiving and we had such a great time with family. We split the long weekend, spending Thanksgiving day with my sister and family in Provo and then drove to Price with Rich's family for the rest of our time. We played tons of games and ate loads of great food. We stayed up way too late every night, but it was so worth it! We even took Kailer to the dinosaur museum in Price. There were so many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, the kids were so pampered! We are so thankful for our families and love them dearly. Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend everyone, we so enjoyed our time :)

We even got a chance to take some family pics and I love this pic below, it so shows their personalities!

The dinosaur museum with Price cousins

We kept up our annual tradition, sad as it might be, by going to our local lowes to purchase a real tree. It's not much of a tree hunt, but it has had to suffice while here in Vegas, not like there's a forest around the corner :) We did get a beauty, I might add.

The finished product :)

Three Bedrooms!!!

Ok so we had a brilliant idea to turn our garage into a playroom and we did it over the weekend! We carpeted the entire thing and insulated the garage door, walling it off with studs and drywall. Rich's cousin Nate pretty much built a wall and carpeted the entire room in 1 weekend. We really owe him one! We're so grateful to have such awesome family here. This now means that I have to park outside in the parking lot, which is going to take some adjustment, but I'll do pretty much anything for a third bedroom! It really is a huge space. We love it. I thought it would be fun to paint a mural on the wall that we will end up ripping out when we move for Kai. I asked him what he wanted on his wall and he said a shark, so I made an ocean for him. It took me 2 nights and one nap to finish, but it turned out awesome. He loves it and we are now going to fill this area with toys!
On a side note, and a very important one at that, I went to New Moon with Sarah and some friends and she was awesome enough to make me a t-shirt that said, "Married My Edward" which of course I did :) And I wore it proudly! We ended up having 15 people once the movie started taking up 3 rows! It was awesome, we got there super early and got first choice of seats! Yes, we are die-hards :) Needless to say, I loved it and can't wait to see it again and buy it :)

Man this kid's a crack up :)

So tonight I told Kai he could pick out one story before bedtime because it was getting late, so he said, "Mom, I wanna read that one medical book" Me: "What? what medical book? what are you talking about?" Kai: "You know, that one medical book, that doctor book" Richard looked at me with big smiling eyes and said... "OHHHH!!! You mean the Dr. Seuss book!" Kai: "Yeah that big medical book!" Oh my gosh, kills me, just kills me :)

Air Show

After Kailer's 8 am baseball game, at which he had an absolute blast, we went to the Nellis air show. Kailer really loved watching the planes and Meili even seemed to enjoy herself more than last time we went. She wandered around our feet and pointed in the sky occasionally. They took turns waving the flag around and Kailer was sure the pilots could see him waving. The thunderbirds were awesome and super loud. Again, Meili hated having her ears covered, but I was relentless :) Kai covered his own ears this time, which was nice! It was a fun filled saturday. The only bad part was it took us about an hour to find our car in the massive speedway parking lots because we were retarted and didn't look at our parking letter :( We won't do that again. Here's a few pics from the event...
Oh and on a hillarious side note: Kai learned from the air show that all planes have a letter and a number, like c-130 etc. So he was playing with an airplane in church and gave it to one of his friends and said, "Here you can have this one, it's name is the HN11 :) Love it! Guess, we've talked about h1n1 way to much in this family!

Drummer Dude

Dresses

Finally the finished product! I started these dresses over the summer and it has taken me this long to finish them! Anyway, they turned out really cute and here's the link if anyone wants the pattern: http://habitual.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/habitual_simplesundress.pdf

Aunt Deanna!
We enjoyed a visit from Aunt Deanna and Uncle Weston so much! We did some shopping, buffet eating, and even went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. They got to watch Kai play baseball on Saturday and Rich's cousin Nate and his wife Sarah even came. Kailer loved it and waved at his family filled bleachers as if he was in a parade everytime he went by our side of the fence. It was so much fun for him and it shows in the last pic!

Thanks for a fun filled weekend D, we love you guys :)

HALLOWEEN!!!

New slide show pics!!! Check 'em out!It seems like we have been celebrating Halloween all month! The kids have worn their costumes about 5 times! This week we had a Halloween party with Kailer's preschool friends. Preschool was at our house this week and we had everyone dress up in their costumes. The kids loved it! We went to the temple this weekend and traded off with the kids outside the temple. It definately took some effort, but we were so grateful that we could go and enjoy the spirit there. Here's a few shots of the kids in their festive colors :)
Since I was feeling festive, I even tried my hand at orange pancakes in the shapes of pumpkins, ghosts, and spiders. I'm thankful I have a detail oriented son who appreciates my efforts! He was so excited he could hardly contain himself :) Rich didn't really want to dress up this year, but Kailer so wanted us to be the Grandma and the Hunter for little red riding hood and the BIG BAD wolf! So, we dressed up for him at home once. On Halloween night we went to 2 different malls and walked from store to store getting candy. Meili learned to say trick or treat in one evening saying, "tit tit teet!" She would hold up her basket for candy and then immediately stop, get it out, and put it in her mouth. It was hard to keep her walking! She was a sticky mess by the end of the night. Kai was so hammered after the first mall, he and Meili fell asleep in the car. We let them have a half hour nap and then on with the trick or treating at the next mall! He loved it so much, he woke up happy from his nap, which is not ever the case! We were able to get rid of all our old candy and I only ended up with a half gallon of good stuff :) Yeah baby. I'm actually sad to pack up the Halloween stuff this year because they had so much fun with it. Kailer loved being bad. Everyone would say "Ohh, you're so cute" and he'd say, "I'm not cute, I'm scary! GRRRR!" We even had 2 people stop us and ask if they could take a picture of Meili. Random right? It was super fun and can't wait for next year! I guess it's on to Christmas now, at least that's what all the tv commercials are saying!
