Life

Today we celebrated Life. Rich's 30th birthday was today and we did a simple evening with eachother. It consisted of cupcakes, many happy birthday wishes, wrestling with babies, and panda express :) He is such a loving and caring husband and father, we are so lucky to have him. Today we also pondered his grandpa's life, as we found out this morning that he passed away in his home. We are comforted to know he is with his wife and daughter now and that we will see him again someday. We will miss his quiet sweetness and love :) It must run in the family. We will be heading to price this weekend for funeral services. I guess we need to spend more of our days celebrating life, as we are continually reminded that it is so precious... Here's a few pics :)
Sadly, there are only a few photos of the kids and Grandpa Jensen, wish we had more recent ones.

Bellagio & Mother's Day

This last week we got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Holt since they were celebrating their 1 year anniversary. The had a room at the Bellagio for 2 nights and we got to swim at the pool and hang out and eat great food! It was excellent :) The kids loved it and we enjoyed seeing them again.Haha! If you can't tell in this pic, the kids have already had a long day of swimming!
For Mother's day weekend I was definitely spoiled. My wonderful hubby sent me shopping without kids, which never happens! It was excellent. We all made a big breakfast sunday morning and Kai told me all weekend, "Happy Valentine Mother's day mom!" Can you tell we just came off of Valentines day?? He's a little confused, but he'll get it :) My favorite part of the weekend was when I walked in on Rich changing Mei's daiper and he was trying to get her to repeat back to him "happy mother's day" Which came out, "Appy Modder" and that's it. It was really sweet to catch him trying to teach our 1 year old to come tell me "Appy Modder Day" :) Love my babies and love my hubby :) What a great weekend it was...
Kai took this pic of us, Isn't he great!

IRON woMAN!!!

We spent the weekend in St. George watching my sister Michelle and her husband do the Iron Man! It was one of the craziest events I have ever seen. It was really something neat to be a part of. These athletes are so passionate about life and what they do. It was an awesome atmosphere. After 140 miles of swimming, biking, and running, they finished together, holding hands, with about 15 minutes to spare. (They planned it that way.) It was such a fun experience to be a part of and we are so proud of them! They conquered a goal of theirs and it was awesome to share it with them. We spent 2 nights in a great hotel and swam, which the kids just loved. We even got plenty of exercise chasing them around at different checkpoints, being their paparazzi. It was such a fun weekend and we're sad that it went so quickly! Here's a few pics of the event :)
Before the race at 6am :)

Over 2,000 people starting the swim at the exact same time...

Just out of the frigid waterTransition from swim to bikeWaiting and swimming...The run wasn't pain free...Approaching the finish...With 15 min to spare :)IRON woMAN FINISHER!!!

P.S. Don't forget to check out the new slide show pics!!!

Aunt Deanna

We had a great visit packed full of fun with Aunt Deanna and Uncle Weston! My sister decided to use us as an excuse for a vacation and we had so much fun with them. We spent our time bowling, taking Kai to see How to Train your Dragon, seeing the volcano and the water show at the Bellagio, doing some shopping while the guys went golfing, watching Kai's baseball game, going to the buffet, and even swimming in our pool for the first time this year! We had so much fun with them and can't wait to spend this upcoming weekend with them and more family in St. George to watch my other sister do the Iron Man! Here's a few pics of our fun :)
Kai's t-ball uniform complete with his name on the back is blue this time and he is soooo thrilled, it is his favorite color! Heaven help us if we ever end up with purple...
Volcano... Meili wasn't so sure about it...
Ipoding with Uncle Weston :)
First swim of the season, doesn't Mei look so girly in her little swimming getup??!!

Yes, Another Parade...

Henderson seems to be making up excuses to have parades, which as far as we are concerned is not a problem. The parade this weekend was for, and I quote, "Heritage Days". It wasn't the greatest parade I've seen, but still plenty of candy and excitement for the kiddos. You can't go wrong with that really. I asked Kai what his favorite part of the parade was and he said, "well mom, all the candy..." Here's a few pics from the event
Kai thought this guy was pretty cool, he pulled over and let him hop on and pose for a picture and then gave him a pin! He was pretty excited!
We also had our first free friday fun night, which didn't end up being completely free, as we spent 5 bucks on a pizza, but it was really fun for the kids. We parked our car with our trunk popped and we had blankets and pillows in the back and ate pizza while we watched airplanes land every 30 seconds. There is a pull off where you can park your car and watch them come and go. The kids were so excited! Meili would scream with glee everytime one would come and Kai was taking pics of them with our camera. It was so much fun for them and relaxing for us! After an hour we left, with Kailer in tears, sad huh! He seriously didn't want to leave.

baseball :)

Kai just started baseball again with the same team that he was previously with. He loves it so much he can't get enough. Half of it is probably that the coach is awesome and loves teaching the kids. He plays and jokes with them and they just love it. Kai is actually starting to become quite a hitter and although his little legs don't carry him very quickly hopefully he could make it to base with a good hit. The point is he loves it and practices are almost more fun than the games themselves because it's like he is playing outside with daddy! Not his daddy of course, but a daddy, it will have to suffice for now. Rich's schedule is kind of crazy right now with ortho trauma at UMC, he's pretty much living "trauma life in the ER" if you've watched that show on discovery health, then you know what I'm talking about, needless to say he is seriously loving it. He worked all weekend for the most part and we hope to see him a bit more during the week. Here's a couple pics...
There have been some really hillarious conversations with Kai lately about what makes boys and girls different from eachother. It's not necissarily appropriate for the blog, but absolutely hillarious so you'll have to call me if you want the info. Luckily Rich was here with me and a part of the whole convo, we couldn't keep a straight face with eachother while he was inquiring!!!

Aunt Brenda & the Easter Bunny

My sister from Minnesota spent a week with us and we had sooo much fun! We spent our time enjoying relaxing afternoons together and even mini golfing, bowling, site seeing, and eating at awesome restaurants. My niece and I stayed up late and made interchangeable flip flops and watched movies, it was some serious fun!! We also have a new found love for Thai food thanks to Tim (aka fun bringer)! They were so generous, we appreciate them so much. We had such a great time with them and can't wait to see them again soon.
Here's Kai at story time with the Easter bunny and some Easter morning pics :) Meili was actually skipping around the living room, she couldn't figure out why she got to wake up to loads of candy, but was certainly happy about it.
My parents even came for a visit after my sister left and my mom totally helped me reorganize my house. It really needed it. We got to go on a date Saturday night, which, if you know us, is a rare occurrence without kids. So, that was definitely nice. Now our nearly 2 week company filled house is empty, but it's nice to get back into our routine. The party has to end sometime I guess... it was certainly fun while it lasted! Here's Kai and Grandpa with his new rollerskates for filling up his "good choice rock" jar. Oh and there are new slide show pics! Check 'em out!
