Gpa Holt and white coat ceremony

Rich's white coat ceremony was this month. He was really excited, but also sad that his mom couldn't be there. It was bitter sweet for him. His Dad came down and we enjoyed spending time with him. Congrats honey! It's exciting! It's going to be quite the journey, but we are ready for it :)Hoover Dam
In other news we've been enjoying the beautiful fall here and taking advantage of the parks. Also, Nate and Rich got Kai started with golf. He loves it! We even took a tour up to the top of the stratosphere! Crazy!
Stratophere with double railings, yep :)

Carol

September proved to be a painful month. It was full of healing. Rich got a phone call at 3am over the weekend while we were in vernal that his mom had stopped breathing and that Erroll had found her in the bedroom. She wasn't breathing. They think later that medications may have crossed and stopped her heart. They called 911 while Matt did CPR and when the ambulance arrived they got a pulse after shocking her a couple of times. She was in the ER on a vent when Erroll called Rich. My Dad got in the car and drove Rich to Price. The next day they took her to provo and a couple of days after that, she really showed no drastic improvements. She wasn't breathing on her own and had minimal brain function. They all made the decision to take her off of life support. It was a hugely traumatic thing for everyone to go through. We are grateful we got to see her the weekend prior and that we all said goodbye and hugged her before we left price. The funeral was beautiful, but painful for the boys. Rich thankfully was able to take a week off of school, he wouldn't have been any good there anyway... We got to see a lot of family, but sad that it had to be under those circumstances. We will miss Grandma Holt so much. She was such a beautiful person and such a great grandma. Those babies love her so much. I am grateful she raised such good boys. She raised a wonderful man that I get to call mine and I am so blessed be raising a family with him. We are grateful to know that she is not in pain anymore and that we will see her again someday, but we will miss her so much. We took a trip to zions after the funeral and it is such a tranquil place, it was calming and rejuvenating. We love spending time there together as a family.

South Dakota

We had an opportunity to hop in the car with my parents and go to south dakota and meet up with noel. Turns out Brenda was going and so was Shelly. So it was a huge family gathering all centering around Grammy Phillis. It was a great party. We camped in tents and enjoyed hanging out at the campground. We swam, we laughed and visited, we went on outings to bear world and mt rushmore, we did some hiking and caving, and we even saw some wild donkeys! It was such a cool trip. It was so nice to get together as family and so fun to get to spend time with Gram.
caving! It was freezing...tight squeeze going into bear world, I think we packed 18 in there...the 5th presidential face on the monument :)hiking
